Care and cleaning
We offer the following advice to help you keep your Boal furniture’s impeccable appearance and maximum comfort for several years.
Care
- To keep the leather’s original color from changing or fading, do not expose furniture to direct sunlight.
- Keep a minimum distance of 30 centimeters between the furniture and heat sources. Continuous exposure to heaters or radiators may dry the leather. Do not place hot objects on the furniture.
- Do not allow pets to be on the furniture, their sharp claws and teeth may cause scratches or cuts; in addition, their body’s fluids and oils are very aggressive and they may stain or damage the furniture.
- We recommend periodically molding the back and seats of your furniture with your hands to preserve their original appearance.
- Do not apply chemicals on the leather. Do not use abrasive products, alcohol or solvents. Do not use multi-use cleaning products. Keep materials such as ink, nail polish, nail-polish remover, paint, bleach and other domestic cleaners away from the furniture.
- To avoid the accumulation of dust on the surface of the furniture, it is recommended to dust the furniture with a dry cloth or to use the soft brush of the vacuum cleaner.
- For dyed and semi- aniline leather, after dusting the furniture with a dry cloth you can apply a damp cloth moistened with tap water. For aniline leather, this last step should be avoided because the damp cloth could permanently stain the leather.
- For general cleaning and maintenance of your furniture, seek the advice of a professional cleaner.
Cleaning instructions
Only for dyed and semi- aniline leather:
- For any stain or liquid spill, you should immediately follow the recommended cleaning process to avoid having the leather absorb the stain.
- For stains and/or spills of chocolate, coffee, fruit, milk, wine, soda or mud, use a dry cloth to carefully absorb the spill, do not rub. In case of mud, first remove the excess, vacuum the area, and then use a dry cloth.
- For stains of ink, grease, oil or wax, follow these instructions: dissolve and mix mild soap in warm water. Moisten a clean cloth or sponge with the foam of this solution and absorb carefully. Do not rub the stained area directly. Work from the edges to the center of the stain. Change the position of the cloth or sponge frequently and rinse with water to ensure that there is no soap left. Do not use an excessive amount of water.
Important: Test on a small and hidden part of the furniture to make sure that the fabric and color will not be affected. For more severe stains ask for the advice of a professional in furniture cleaning.
