Care and cleaning
We offer the following advice to help you keep your Boal furniture’s impeccable appearance and maximum comfort for several years.
Care
- To keep the fabric´s original color from changing or fading, do not expose furniture to direct sunlight.
- It is recommended to vacuum the furniture periodically or to use a brush or a very soft and dry cloth to avoid the accumulation of dust. This will enhance the beauty of the fabric and will give it a longer life.
- Do not use detergents or bleach.
- We recommend periodically molding the back and seats of your furniture with your hands to preserve their original appearance.
- It is recommended to hire a professional to provide general maintenance to your furniture.
Cleaning instructions
- Immediately clean any liquid spill, absorbing it carefully with a dry cloth without rubbing.
- If the stain is already dry, first try to remove it with a soft brush before using any liquid cleaners.
Even though not all stains can be completely removed, the following suggestions will help you to get better results:
See the following table to determine the best cleaning procedure according to the nature of the stain
| Contaminant | Cleaning (Check the paragraphs bellow) |
| Chocolate / Coffee | A |
| Fruit | A with cold water |
| Ink | A with alcohol |
| Milk / Wine / Soda | A |
| Grease/ Oil / Lipstick | B |
| Wax | First brush, then continue with B |
| Vomit | Remove with a sponge with cold water, and continue with A |
| Pencil | B, followed by A |
| Mud | Remove the excess, vacuum the fabric and continue with A |
A. Grate and dissolve mild soap in warm water. Moisten a clean cloth or sponge with the foam of this solution and absorb carefully. Do not rub the stained area directly. Work from the edges to the center of the stain. Change the position of the cloth or sponge frequently and rinse with water to ensure that there is no soap left. Do not use an excessive amount of water.
B. Use a domestic cleaner that contains a soft and adequate solvent for furniture fabric. Follow the instructions of the cleaner’s manufacturer. Once dry, use a soft brush to recover the texture of the fabric.
Important: Test on a small and hidden part of the furniture to make sure that the fabric and color will not be affected. For more severe stains ask for the advice of a professional in furniture cleaning.
